We love it that Harlan Veterinary Associates is a one stop full service Vet. We took our Miniature Schnauzer in for her first "real" Schnauzer haircut today. Zoe's haircut looks very nice & professionally done.

The Dr. & Staff were awesome. My furbaby got a wellness checkup & 4 shots today. She received a clean bill of health. ☺

I have been working with the vet and staff of Harlan Veterinary Associates and Referral Center for about five years. I have to say they are the best! I love the care my cats receive! When my male was having urinary problems we found a simple solution quickly! The staff is so easy to work with. Dr. S and his staff also work with my non profit organization Western Iowa's Feral and Homeless Cat Program. They meet a huge need and provide a wonderful community service! Thank you HVA for all you do for my family and for WIFCaP!

Everything that was done today was done in front of me. Dr.Sternberg explained everything to me. Didn't rush things. Made us feel welcome. He is a very down to earth guy. Doesn't talk over your head. Treats your pet with gentleness & kindness. Him & his staff are warm hearted people who really care about the animals they are treating. KUDOS TO THE HARLAN VETERINARY CLINIC!!

Very welcoming staff, excellent doctors, clean environment, great prices. Highly recommend.

We visited Dr. Sternberg while on vacation in Iowa to see my family. Our dog developed an abscessed tooth while we were there. The tooth extraction that they did cost a little over $300 after we paid for all necessary medications. Upon returning to our home in another state, we had to take our dog back to our normal vet because the swelling from the first procedure did not go away as Dr. Sternberg said it would. Upon further X-rays, it turns out that Dr. Sternberg left a root behind from the tooth he extracted and in addition, damaged the tooth next to it in the process of extracting the abscessed tooth. It cost us over $600 at our own vet to get this all fixed because they had to go in and clean out the infection and go after the root that was left behind. Dr. Sternberg only refunded us $130 of the money we paid him, and claimed that he was not responsible for any of the rest of it because we chose not to bring the dog back to him for the second procedure. We live FIVE HOURS away from him, so that request to me was unreasonable. Also, why would I bring my dog back to him after he had screwed thing sup so bad the first time? I would never recommend this practice to anyone after our horrible experience.
